Henry is worried that the bad coal will damage his firebox if he continues working, so he heads back to his shed. Hiro wants to keep on puffing and delivers their heavy load on his own. While searching for sheep that will give him some wool for another scarf, George accidentally whistles, which sends Bo the sheepdog and his flock of sheep on a wild adventure through the country. Can George whistle his way out of this mess or will his baaaaaad day turn even worse?

Telly runs to tell Baby Bear, but when he finds him, he is getting ready to hibernate until springtime when there is porridge again. What is Telly supposed to do for five months without a best friend? Telly and Baby bear set up a play date for the spring when Baby Bear wakes up. Telly says goodbye and the bears try to go to sleep, but they are not tired! First, they try counting, but that does not work. Then they call Max Bear, a hibernation consultant. Max Bear arrives and tells the bears that their cottage is too warm. They must go outside where it is cold. The bears look for an empty cave or hollow tree and sing all about bears. Finally, they find a flower bed that they can dig a hole and sleep in called a den. Telly and Chris see the bears digging and go outside to check on them. Max Bear says that they should eat something before they hibernate. Chris suggests cereal and goes to Hooper's Store. When Chris comes back, they try the cereal and like it! In fact, the cereal is so good that they decide to eat it all winter long and not hibernate! Hooray! In the morning, the bridge is re-opened and Caitlin is the most tired of all. Luke's New Friend - One day, Luke finds a nervous and scared young deer at the Blue Mountain Quarry. The other engines warn Luke that the quarry is no place for an animal, but Luke remembers when he first arrived and how he was nervous and scared. He wants to help the young deer so he tries to get the other engines to work quietly. As Rubble zooms over uneven ground, the designs for the flying ride fall out of his cab. Before he can retrieve the plans, a cheeky seagull snatches them! Bob and Wendy encourage Rubble to wait patiently - as they may turn up. But Rubble doesn't think waiting patiently will prove he's fast! Once he's learned that sometimes waiting is the best thing to do, Rubble helps Bob clear everything up. In the process, Rubble discovers a Pterodactyl skeleton! He comes up with a new design for the flying ride - based on Rubble's Pterodactyl! Roley and the Impossible Lump - Roley is flattered when Scratch tells him he thinks he's the best flattener in the world! So flattered, that he becomes determined to live up to Scratch's expectations. Roley thinks Scratch will be disappointed, if he discovers he's not so accomplished after all. Roley finds one bump that is impossible to flatten. Instead of hiding his problem, Roley should have asked for help in the first place. When Bob and the others rally around, Roley discovers the reason the bump is so stubborn - it's the very tip of a triceratops dinosaur skeleton! And when the fireflies provide the light the kids need, the shadow puppet show can continue!

They jump into the Thingamajigger and shrink down to meet up with Lewis and Clark, the two snails leading the way! As they travel through the forest of Slippity-Goo, having fun sliding in their own shells, the kids learn about all the different ways snails use their shells.
