Martin and Chris wonder what it's like to hear like these creatures, so they build a new Kratt-contraption, Super Ear Sensors. But there's so much to hear in Animal Junction, the Super Ear Sensors can't take the volume and overheat. Martin and Chris take a trip to visit an aye-aye and see how he finds his dinner with his ears. Jackie builds a fence to protect fox kits from the road. James says that Sodor Rescue Engines are Steam Engines, not Steam Trams like Toby! They chuff off to rescue Gordon whose wheels have come off the track. James wants to help by pulling him forward, but Toby thinks they should get Rocky since Gordon is too heavy. James doesn't listen and tries to pull Gordon, and his driving wheels now come off the track. When James tries to push Gordon, the Fenland track cracks and Gordon falls! James then asks Toby to get Rocky for help. James says that Toby is the best Rescue Tram on the whole of Island of Sodor. Harry Hiro - Thomas tries to cheer Hiro up when he sees that he is sad because he misses his home. Thomas is sure that he can make Hiro smile and asks Charlie to tell him a joke, but Hiro doesn't laugh. Thomas brings Hiro to Misty Island and he enjoys the sounds of the birds. Thomas doesn't pay attention and takes him to race through the hollow tree tunnel. When Hiro wants to look at the sea, Thomas takes him on a tour of the hills of Sodor. Thomas realizes he needs to listen to Hiro and what he wants. They listen to the birds at the hollow tree tunnel and visit the Jobi Woods. The places they visit remind Hiro of home. She plans to spend the entire afternoon with her mother and the reading of a poem written just for her mom. Charley agrees that the gift is perfect, but Jetta has other ideas. Emily Elizabeth agrees to at least try some of Jetta's ideas. But in the end she realizes that the gift she created from her heart really is the best gift.

He uses licorice whips to measure his height and determines that he is 7-whips tall, one short of the 8-whip minimum! As he nibbles on his licorice, George looks for different ways to grow. His efforts seem to pay off when he measures himself again until he realizes that it's not that his legs are longer, it's that his stomach is fuller.

Sandy teaches them the difference between natural "garbage" and man-made trash, and how some animals use the natural garbage as food. Back at home, they put the trash in a garbage bag, and the apple core in the garden for Wriggles the worm to enjoy!
    * Itty Bitty Water - Nick and Sally are about to dump out the water in their kiddie pool when The Cat stops them - water is too precious to waste even a drop! Off they go to the Drippety Dry Desert to meet three creatures who are experts at conserving water. Back at home, they think of other ways to use the water in the pool instead of just dumping it out - like giving Cat a bath!

The Conductor agrees, and the Train starts picking up dinosaurs, as Tiny and Buddy help keep track of how many of the different species have come on board, and where they are on the dinosaur A to Z list. The Dinosaur Train continues traveling around the Mesozoic picking up more and more dinosaurs that are in the `Dinosaurs A to Z' song, on the way to a picnic at Troodon Town. Freddy Flapman, from Flychert Real Estate finds Big Bird and tries to convince him to migrate somewhere warm. Freddy Flapman tells him that he might like living in a new habitat. Big Bird thinks it would be fun to see pictures of these other bird habitats, but Freddy Flapman has a better idea! Why not a virtual tour? First, Freddy Flapman takes Big Bird to the beach where there are pelicans and gulls and beautiful ocean views. Big Bird decides that, although he likes to visit the visit the beach, he doesn't want to live there. Freddy Flapman then transforms Sesame Street into a big swamp! Big Bird learns all about this habitat, where owls and ducks like to live, but decides it's not the right one for him. Freddy Flapman pops up again. This time Freddy Flapman claps his hands and Big Bird's nest area is turned into a beautiful rainforest! Big Bird likes it. The rainforest is warm and colorful and has animals of every color and size. In fact, Big Bird likes it so much he wants to move there! Big Bird begins packing and waving good bye to all of his friends on Sesame Street. Just as he is about to leave, Big Bird's friends remind him of all the things he would miss if he migrated to the rainforest. Big Bird realizes he can't leave Sesame Street, after all this is where all of his friends are. Those can be dangerous for manatees, but luckily the Cat, Nick and Sally help their new friends to stay safe. And when they get back home, Nick and Sally will be sure to tell everyone to "Slow down for manatees!"
    * The Last Chocolate - Only two chocolates left in the whole box, what a great present for Nick and Sally's Moms. That is until The Cat excitedly eats them! Oh no! How are they going to find more chocolate to give to their moms? Why a trip to visit Princess Lottachoca in the Cocoalicious Forest will help them! There, the Princess teaches Nick and Sally the chocolate-making song and they help to pick the beans, roast them, and to heat the juice and add sugar. And then, pouring the hot liquid into moulds of any shape. Now that the chocolate has cooled, it's time to go home and surprise their moms! Educational Objective: The process of how chocolate is made from the humble cocoa bean - by picking the beans, drying them, roasting them and then crushing them to get the juice, then adding sugar while you heat it, pour it into a mould and cool it.

Creatures have all kinds of coats, but every creature has the best coat for where ever he or she lives. Jackie does a turn as a duck-crossing guard. She helps herd ducklings across the road to the safety of MudPuppy Pond. After she scoops the last one across, she nuzzles into the duckling's soft coat. Hayley Daniels, who had been out partying with her friends the previous night, is found strangled with her knickers in her mouth, and Banks immediately suspects the man who found her - a local shopkeeper, Timothy Randall. Meanwhile, Annie discovers the identity of the woman in the wheelchair - Lucy Payne. She discovers that Payne had been given a new identity following an acid attack on her whilst she was serving time for being an accomplice to the crimes committed by her husband Marcus. She discovers that Payne had been living at a care home due to no longer being able to communicate, and on the morning of her murder, had been escorted out for a walk by a woman named Mary. Meanwhile, Banks visits pathologist Elizabeth Waring to discover the circumstances surrounding Hayley Daniels' death.
