Chris, Allen, and Telly construct a stage out of vegetable crates reinforced with tape so the crates will stay together and be strong enough. It works! LMNOP jumps onto the stage and now asks for a sound check. Together they construct a microphone using lampshades. They will help amplify the sound and make it louder for the audience to hear. Chris adds that they can use what they found in the dirt to build a dinosaur model. First, they can design a model, which means to think about and plan to put something together in a certain way before you build it. Elmo thinks the ladle looks like a dinosaur's head, Rosita thinks the spring looks like a dinosaur's tail, Grover thinks keys look like a dinosaur's arms, the spoons and clothespins could be legs and feet, and the xylophone could be the dinosaur's body. Jews and Baseball This program explores the connection between Jewish Americans and baseball, our nation's most iconic institution. More than a film about sports, it is a story of immigration, assimilation, bigotry, heroism, the passing on of traditions, and the shattering of stereotypes. This is the first major documentary to tell their stories.
Interviews include fans, writers, executives, and especially players - including Al Rosen, Kevin Youkilis, Shawn Green, Norm Sherry, Ron Blomberg, Bob Feller, Yogi Berra, and a rare interview with the legendary Hall of Fame pitcher Sandy Koufax. Fans Ron Howard and Larry King speak of the meaning of Jewish ballplayers in their own lives, while historians and even two baseball-loving rabbis relate the stories of Jewish players to the turbulent history of the last century. These powerful personal and historical stories are interwoven with an extraordinary collection of rare archival footage and photos, and a musical score ranging from Benny Goodman to Yo-Yo Ma to Rush. Body's Secret Army Every day of our lives, silently and invisibly, our bodies do battle against a never-ending onslaught of hostile forces. Bacteria. Viruses. Microbes of all kinds. Fortunately, we win the lion's share of these battles. If we didn't, we'd all die.
The foot soldiers in this daily battle are the microscopic cells and molecules of the body's immune system. For centuries, its workings were shrouded in mystery. But over the past hundred years, thanks in large part to the groundbreaking discoveries of Nobel Prize-winning scientists, we have unraveled its basic principles. And in recent years, immunology has made even bolder advances - taking on diseases that once seemed beyond its reach.
In an eye-opening journey that takes us deep inside the human body and explores how Nobel Prize-winning pioneers have unlocked the secrets of the immune system, producer Michael Schwarz tells the life-and-death story of the body's invisible defenders.
