  Moyers & Company [#203H] What's Fueling The Modern Abortion Debate? * This year marks the 40th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, the Supreme Court decision that overturned many federal and state restrictions on a woman's right to an abortion. But while polls show that most Americans support the decision, and that a majority - for the first time - believe abortion should be legal in all or most cases, anti-abortion forces show no sign of relenting. A study by the Guttmacher Institute reported that state legislatures passed 92 provisions restricting a woman's access to reproductive health care in 2011 - a number four times higher than the previous year.
  This week, Bill discusses the changing face of the reproductive rights movement and those it serves - as well as the success of social conservatives on the abortion front - with Jessica Gonzalez-Rojas, Executive Director of the National Latina Institute for Reproductive Health, and Lynn Paltrow, founder and Executive Director of National Advocates for Pregnant Women.

  Life of Mammals [#102Z] Insect Hunters When mammals first appeared, insects were abundant on earth, and mammals made meals of them. Crucially, they were the first creatures able to make and regulate their own body heat, so they could hunt insects in the cool of the night, when most of the predatory dinosaurs were asleep. The modern musk shrew gives us an insight into how these first mammals might have lived. After the dinosaurs so suddenly disappeared, the mammals were free to conquer new territories. We meet shrews that dive under water, moles that swim in sand, and extraordinary creatures that gather their prey by running at speed down trail systems above and below ground.
  It's hard to sustain a large body by catching insects one by one but about 50 million years ago, some of them broadened their diet. The hedgehogs and armadillos mix their insects with fruit and birds eggs. Halfway through the history of the mammals, insects started to build huge nests, protected with walls of baked mud - these were impenetrable to any creature of the time. But with pangolins and giant anteaters, the mammals rose to the challenge. These spectacular animals survive entirely on a diet of social ants and termites - they have the biggest claws of any mammals, long tongues and the ability to protect themselves against angry insects and large predators. But many of the insects could fly and were out of reach for ground dwelling mammals.
  But way back in mammalian history - probably when the dinosaurs still roamed - one mammal took to the air. Today, the earth holds a bewildering array of insect eating bats. We even meet one - the Natterers bat - that can take spiders from their webs without becoming tangled in the silk. And another, in New Zealand, that has retraced its origins and returned to the ground to forage like a shrew. The insect eating mammals were there at the very beginning of the mammals and are still thriving today, they are one of the great success stories in The Life of Mammals. duration 49:16   STEREO

Abby, reluctantly, makes Big Bird's feet smaller, turns him into half of his original size, and eventually turns his feathers blue. Abby realizes that the president of the club is bullying Big Bird so she reports what is going on to an adult. Elmo worries they will be tattling, but they find Chris who explains that they are reporting, not tattling. Reporting is telling a grownup when someone's getting hurt or is in trouble. He explains that it is important to turn to a grownup when someone is being bullied. Chris finds Big Bird and tells him he shouldn't have to change to join a club and that he is wonderful just the way he is. Big Bird admits he likes the way he is and wants to be changed back to being himself. Chris, Abby, Elmo, and Bird start their own club; a club where no one is bullied and everyone is accepted for who they are. George and Allie find that a dry spell has lowered the water level of Lake Wanasink Lake and one of their fish friends got trapped in a small pond away from it's family! This would work except that the small pond is downhill from the lake and fish can't swim up hill. With some help from Bill, George realizes his canal needs a lock. Even though this is big work for a little monkey, George is up to it! He needs to get his fish friend Ting Tang Tony back to his family. Off to Scoobamareen they go! Tony and Cat got distracted while he was drawing pictures of the beautiful coral that's all around them. Using Cat's drawings as a map, they swim to get Tony back home. Along the way they meet little polyps that live in the coral and learn that they actually helped to make it! They learn about how long it takes to make and how delicate it is. Luckily they soon find Tony's family and they're reunited. Next, Gina tries to reach an envelope that blew up in the tree. The A Team brings in animals with apricot allergies that have apricots tied to their ankles. Their sneezes blow the envelope back down! Last, Oscar is aggravated and angry that some pigs are playing by his trash can. First, The A Team tries to distract them by bringing in Alan wearing an afro being chased by an alligator with an attitude, but that doesn't work. Big A wants to try a new plan and points out that the letter A can make different sounds. The A Team brings in an ape dressed as an angel singing about acorns. That plan doesn't work either. Alan suggests that they try asking the pigs to stop playing their game near Oscar's trash can. It works! Another problem solved using an "A" word. This calls for an "A" celebration! So Caillou and Rosie head out on a safari, working together to find the animal cards. When Caillou visits Clementine, he is impressed to see Billy practicing on a Tuba. When Edward causes a spillage of telegraph poles on the tracks, he calls for Harvey, the smaller crane. But Harvey isn't fast enough, and Gordon steams into the poles and crashes. Harvey can't lift Gordon and Edward realizes that only Rocky is big enough to help. Edward realizes that Rocky is useful after all and is proud to be his friend. Thomas challenges Spencer to a race. He races right through Kellsthorpe station with a gust of wind so strong that it blows Sir Topham Hatt's top hat right off. Sir Topham Hatt is going for tea at the Scottish Castle so he needs his hat! Thomas promises to retrieve the hat and sets off to find it. Thomas chases the hat all over the island, but every time he nearly gets to it, the hat blows away. Eventually Thomas stops. All of a sudden, the hat floats gently onto Thomas' funnel. Off to the Glippydrippy Gulf to meet Matilda the Manatee and her son Marlin. Matilda and Marlon teach their guests how to swim slowly and gracefully. Until they hear the sound of a boat motor! Those can be dangerous for manatees, but luckily the Cat, Nick and Sally help their new friends to stay safe. And when they get back home, Nick and Sally will be sure to tell everyone to "Slow down for manatees!" The Last Chocolate - Only two chocolates left in the whole box, what a great present for Nick and Sally's Moms. That is until The Cat excitedly eats them! Oh no! How are they going to find more chocolate to give to their moms? Why a trip to visit Princess Lottachoca in the Cocoalicious Forest will help them! There, the Princess teaches Nick and Sally the chocolate-making song and they help to pick the beans, roast them, and to heat the juice and add sugar. And then, pouring the hot liquid into moulds of any shape. Now that the chocolate has cooled, it's time to go home and surprise their moms!   DCI Banks [#104H] Cold Is The Grave Banks is asked by Superintendent Gerry Rydell to track down his missing daughter, Emily, and Annie gets lumbered with an armed carjacking and the murder of a small time crook, Charlie McKai. Travelling from Eastvale to South London, Banks comes across one of Emily's friends and her ex-flatmate, Ruth, who informs him that since their bust-up, Emily has been living with a well known criminal and drug baron, Barry Clough. Paying a visit to Clough, Banks realises that Emily could be in danger, and after encouragement from Emily's mother, decides to try and persuade her to return to Eastvale with him. Meanwhile, Annie delegates that McKai's murder and the carjacking are related to a much bigger operation - but without a testimony from the owner of the carjacked van, struggles to find a lead to pursue. Banks returns to Eastvale with Emily, however, no sooner have they returned than Emily disappears again - and hours later, he receives a phone call relating to a dead body in a nightclub toilet, believing it to be Emily's friend Ruth - however, when he arrives, discovers that is in fact Emily who is the victim. The investigation takes a number of alarming twists before uncovering a conspiracy, pointing to one of the team being an informant relating to Clough.
