First, Leela hires him to fold laundry in the Laundromat, but Brandeis has a lot of trouble folding the clothing with his paws. Next, Chris hires him to sweep the floor, but he has trouble holding the broom. Brandeis is sad, but just then, Elmo notices that Gina is working with a dog. She explains that she is training Hercules to be a service dog. A service dog works with people who need special kinds of help. Gina says that it takes a lot of intelligence and training for this career, and Brandeis is up for the challenge! He begins training right away, learning how to do things like opening drawers, turning on lights, and picking up and bringing things. After many weeks of training, Brandeis officially becomes a service dog! He is very excited and nervous about meeting the person he will be helping. Liliana, who is in a wheelchair, is nervous about meeting Brandeis, too. When they first meet, both Liliana and Brandeis aren't sure what to do next. Liliana's book bag slides off her lap, and Brandeis quickly fetches it for her. She laughs happily and thanks Brandeis. She then asks for a glass of milk, and Brandeis motions to follow him into Hooper's store and opens the door for her. Liliana praises him for his hard work. No matter, Grandma shows Caillou how to make fruit juice from scratch, and it tastes so good that Mommy asks for seconds.
  * Caillou's Puppet Show - Caillou and his friends Jason and Jeffrey make finger puppets at playschool and decide to put on a puppet show for the rest of the class the next day. The next morning, however, Caillou is disappointed to find that he's caught the measles from Rosie and can't go to playschool. All is saved when the whole class comes to wish him well and the puppet show goes on as planned - through the living room window!
  * Caillou's Collection - In the park Caillou starts a new hobby - collecting rocks! He finds out that Grandpa has a rock collection too, and they go to the quarry where Caillou watches a worker break up big stones into smaller ones. Caillou gets to pick out a rock for Grandpa that ends up in Grandpa's new rock garden. The Renkins teach George that proper compost consists of dirt, water, and air with only certain foods (no meat or dairy). In the city, George sees that the plants in the apartment need food. George prepares a hearty "meal" in the living room...using all the containers he can find. When the Man with the Yellow Hat wakes up to a strange odor, he follows his nose to the compost! The neighbors are delighted that George made enough for all the plants in the building.
  * What Goes Up - It's "Reuse Your Junk Day" and George and the Man with the Yellow Hat have one last pickup before they go to the lake. But when they arrive at Renkins' Farm, they find a mountain of junk piled in the Renkins' living room. There's no way they'll finish the job before the suns goes down, which means no lake for George. While the Man is taking a load to the collection center, George discovers that he can use the ironing board as a lever to launch the junk out of the living room and onto the front yard. Soon, all the pigs, chickens, and squirrels are ducking for cover! George's ingenious invention got all the junk outside, but it's scattered everywhere!   Sesame Street [#4310H] Afraid of the Bark Elmo and Zoe are playing a game with Zoe's pet rock, Rocco. When it's Elmo's turn to roll Rocco, he rolls him all the way to Barkley the dog, who picks him up and plays with him in his mouth. Bob gives Rocco back to Zoe and explains that Barkley just thought they were playing fetch. Elmo wants to continue playing, but Zoe explains that Rocco doesn't want to play anymore. Just then, she sees Grover with three dogs on leashes, and she becomes frightened. Soon after, a barking dog passes by and Zoe zooms off again. Elmo finally realizes that Zoe must be scared of dogs. When Elmo tells Zoe what he thinks, she says that Rocco is the one afraid of dogs, not her. Elmo offers to help Rocco to not be afraid anymore and introduces Rocco and Zoe to a woman and her dog. At first Zoe is reluctant to meet them, but she becomes more comfortable when she sees that the dog is wearing a tutu just like she is! As soon as the dog barks, though, Zoe runs off again and hides with Rocco. Gina comes upon Zoe and teaches her what to do when she meets a dog. Zoe and Rocco follow these steps to meet Barkley and Zoe becomes more comfortable. She even asks him to sit and give her his paw. Zoe says that she isn't afraid anymore, but corrects herself and says, "Rocco's not afraid anymore." Bob asks if Zoe would like to hold Barkley's leash and she says yes! They all head to the Enchanted Garden, where Mom Tiger shows Daniel the strawberry patch. Daniel is very curious, and learns that if he looks closely, he may be able to answer his own questions about how strawberries grow and learn something new. A Trip to the Crayon Factory - Daniel Tiger, Miss Elaina, and Katerina Kittycat take a fun trip to the factory to see how crayons are made but, O the Owl can't come because he's sick. At the factory, the kids watch the crayons being made, and Daniel looks and listens closely.   Thomas & Friends [#703H] Safe and Sound Henry's Health & Safety - Victor explains the meaning of Health and Safety to Henry while he is visiting the Steam Works. Henry is so concerned about safety on Sodor that he keeps changing things that are already safe. He takes Rocky to move telegraph poles from the tracks which are safely there to be collected by Percy. Henry gets Rocky to lift Percy off the tracks. Sir Topham Hatt sees Percy hanging in mid air and soon tells Henry that he is causing chaos on the tracks. Henry realizes that Percy is safe and asks Rocky to lower him to the ground. Henry is then happy to take Rocky to help with a real emergency on Sodor. Henry's Magic Box - It's the Winter Holidays on Sodor and all the engines are very excited. Henry he has been given a very special box to deliver to a field. He goes back to the field later to check on the box but it has disappeared and replaced with a Christmas tree! Sir Topham Hatt also asks Henry to tell the engines to meet by the field that night, but Henry is so worried about the missing box that he forgets to tell everyone. Sir Topham Hatt meets a worried Henry and tells him that the Christmas trees have come from the special box. Henry is relieved and tells the engines to come to the field. The trees are lit with beautiful sparkling lights and Sir Topham Hatt appears from behind the trees dressed as Santa Claus. In Bana Bana Savanah, they meet three different animals who all keep clean in very different ways.   Moyers & Company [#148H] Big Media's Power Play * In 1983, 50 corporations controlled a majority of American media. Now that number is 6. And Big Media may get even bigger, thanks to the FCC's consideration of ending a rule preventing companies from owning a newspaper and radio and TV stations in the same big city. Such a move would give these massive media companies free rein to devour more of the competition, control the public message, and also limit diversity across the media landscape. On this week's Moyers & Company, Senator Bernie Sanders, one of several Senators who have written FCC Chairman Julius Genachowski asking him to suspend the plan, joins Bill to discuss why Big Media is a threat to democracy and what citizens can do to fight back.
  * Also on the show, former Republican Congressman Mickey Edwards shares his perspective on the fiscal cliff debate, the influence of tax pledger Grover Norquist, and why both political parties require radical change. Edwards chaired the Republican Policy Committee, was a founding trustee of the conservative Heritage Foundation, and served as National Chairman of the American Conservative Union.
