    Dinosaur Train [#203H] Stargazing on the Night Train/Get Into Nature! * The Pteranodon family rides a special 'Night Train" to another part of the Cretaceous Time Period, where they meet a Troodontid "cousin" of the Conductor's, Sidney Sinovenator, who knows more about the stars than anyone. Sidney takes the family up to his favorite stargazing spot, "Starry Hill," and teaches the kids why the stars seem to move across the night sky.
    * When the kids build their own version of a nest on the beach, below their actual family nest up on the cliff, they get the idea to turn their beach nest into a clubhouse. Shiny thinks that a clubhouse needs a club, and "the Nature Trackers" club is born! The kids decide to make their club about getting outside, getting into nature, and making new discoveries. The only problem is: which kid is in charge of the club?

The other kids try their best, but are soon bored and take a vote to go outside and make their own movie with Vaz's movie camera. Jetta is encouraged to join them, but stubbornly refuses. They go to see Farmer Trotter's pigs but Belle spoils the fun by making mud with her water jet. Toby goes into another siding but Belle chases after him still wanting to be his friend. Next they go to Maithwaite Station and Belle rings her big loud bell but Toby reverses away. Belle realizes that if she wants to be Toby's friend she needs to listen to what makes him happy too. So they both listen to the birds twittering and twitting together quietly. Finally they are both happy and become the best of friends. Stuck on You - Thomas is given the special of being the Sodor Search and Rescue Engine for the day. Thomas is excited to see that Butch has a magnet attached to his crane arm. Victor tells them that the magnet comes on when the red light is switched on, but they don't listen. At the Sodor Search and Rescue Center, Harold asks them to take metal poles to Farmer McColl. Butch and Thomas can't figure out how to pick up the poles with the magnet so the poles crash into the sea! Now the red light switches itself on and Butch gets stuck to Thomas! He realizes he should have listened to Victor. Victor tells them again that the magnet is on when the red light is on.     Thomas & Friends [#808H] Slow Down! Wonky Whistle - Thomas is getting his whistle fixed at the Steam Works before he delivers animals to the Sodor Country Fair. He rushes out of the Steam Works before his whistle is fixed properly and it starts to make a strange sound. Thomas collects ducks, Katy the sheep dog and Farmer McColl's prize cow to take them to the fair. Thomas' whistle is so loud that all of the animals run away! Thomas arrives at the fair to find out that the animals are gone and there is no one at the fair. Once Thomas goes back to the Steam Works to get his whistle fixed, he tells everybody about the animal show. Thomas is asked to use his whistle to declare that 'the animal show is now open! ' Up, Up and Away - Thomas and Percy are given the special of delivering a giant balloon that Mr. Bubbles has blown up for his Big Balloon Show. Thomas and Percy decide to take the coast track, but the wind whips the balloon into the sky. Thomas and Percy ask Mr. Bubbles to blow up another giant balloon and they take it through a tunnel but it gets stuck! Thomas and Percy again get another giant balloon and they take a fast track and as Gordon rushes past the big balloon bounces off the flatbed and bursts.     Caillou [#507] Blast Off to Space Caillou Sharing the Rocketship: While shopping for a birthday present for Clementine, Caillou and Leo decide to go 'halvsies' on a toy shuttle. They try to share it, but squabbles inevitably arise. When Caillou worries that Leo isn't talking to him anymore he finally realizes his friendship is more important than any toy. Luckily for Caillou, Leo thinks so too! In the end, the boys decide to 'gift' the toy shuttle to Clementine - who is all too happy to receive it. Educational Objective: The importance of sharing; friendship. Coach Grandpa: Grandpa is coaching Caillou's soccer team, and Caillou really wants to impress his Grandpa. So when the team starts losing, and Caillou begins to bumble on the field, Caillou decides he doesn't want to play anymore. Grandpa explains that win or lose, it's all about having fun. He's proud of Caillou, no matter what. With renewed enthusiasm, Caillou rejoins the team to have fun playing the game. Educational Objective: Having fun at sports is more important than winning. The Safety Helper: Caillou is very proud when Miss Martin makes him "Safety Helper" for the day. He takes his job very seriously, and even prevents Jeffrey from going down the slide head-first. So when the job is passed on to Leo the next day, Caillou feels crushed... until he overhears some students repeating his safety lessons, and realizes they took his message to heart. Sid heads to school to investigate more, and is delighted to see the special guest. It's Gabriela's Mom, Dr. Rosalinda Cordova! She brought the class their very own pet...a praying mantis! And now the kids have to learn how to take care of it. That means investigating what the praying mantis needs to eat, drink, and what kind of home it needs.     Bob the Builder [#914] At The Movies! Lights! Camera! Leo!: Bob and the team are building the set and rocket for the movie, Space Robots 3. While the team is busy at work, Leo dreams of starring in the film and tries to capture the attention of the director. When the cameras start rolling the next morning, Leo appears on set, inside the rocket. His antics result in the damage of the set and beloved robot character, D11D. Though D11D cannot be mended in time, super-fan Saffi is able to fit inside the robot's casing to play the role. Learning Goals: To observe actions and decisions of characters in stories and their consequences. To use creative brainstorming to generate possible solutions to a problem. To understand the importance of honesty. Star Struck Muck: Spring City Studios is planning to produce a new Dash Lighting film and Bob and the team are commissioned to build the set! While the team is at work, Muck is so consumed with meeting his hero, Dash Lightning, that he is distracted from the job. After a montage of mistakes, the entire set falls apart. Together, the team rebuild the set and Muck sacrifices watching the film shoot to help hold up the scenery. The filming wraps and Muck is finally able to meet his hero. Learning Goals: To understand the importance of making plans. To understand the importance of safety at work and play.     Ready Jet Go! [#137H] Castaway Carrot/Jet Can't Sleep After an afternoon on the Moon, Celery, Jet, and Sunspot discover, as they fly to Earth, that they have mistakenly left Carrot on the Moon! Then the saucer malfunctions and they receive news of a possible solar storm headed their way. In a nail-biter, Jet and Sunspot do a mid-outer space repair job - as per Celery's instructions -with Carrot comically adapting to the Moon environment. In the end, the saucer is fixed, Carrot is rescued, and the solar storm heads in the opposite direction of the Moon. / When a loud thunderstorm hits the neighborhood one evening, the Propulsions are woken up. They gather in the kitchen as the noisy storm rages on, and Jet is too excited to get back to sleep. Carrot, Celery, and Sunspot are sympathetic - they're in the same boat! During the night they all learn about Earth storms as compared to storms on other planets. And then they all try to get Jet to fall back asleep, a seemingly impossible task.       Next week, Sutro Tower will be switching most stations to their auxiliary antennas. KQED TV will be at half power on the lower auxiliary antenna, this will affect some of our Over The Air viewers. Maintenance is scheduled on August 21-25 from 9am through 4pm daily.
