    Dinosaur Train [#218] A Heck of a Neck/Gilbert Visits The Nest The Pteranodon kids have a Nature Trackers adventure when they meet Denise Diplodocus, a super-long, super big dinosaur. At first the kids mistake Denise's neck for a snake, and tail as a bridge. Later, Denise amazes the kids, telling them how hard it is for her to raise up her long, heavy neck. Shiny and the others help her raise her neck higher than normal just once, but it feels better for Denise to keep closer to the ground and low-lying trees. Shiny is nervous about Gilbert's impending visit to Pteranodon Terrace. She goes into a cleaning frenzy, wanting everything to look perfect, and her siblings to act perfectly. When Gilbert arrives, everyone starts having fun except Shiny who feels ignored. They pass workmen who cheer for Ferdinand (not for Gordon or the Lion of Sodor!). Gordon comes up with a plan to take the quiet tracks across the Fenland but he goes too fast and the Lion of Sodor falls into the river. Gordon realizes he was wrong to think he was grander than Ferdinand. Ferdinand helps Gordon to get the Lion of Sodor back and they take it to the Steam Works to get it gleaming again. Toby and Bash - Sir Topham Hatt gives Bash a reward for being a Really Useful Engine. His reward is to spend the day with Toby to pick up the children at Knapford Station. Then they heave and haul slate to Brendham Docks. They are tired and Bash needs a rest so Toby brings him to Arlesdale End. Bash thinks Arlesdale is beautiful and Toby lets him sleep there. Toby thinks that Bash would like a home of his own on Sodor and they set out to find the perfect home. They visit the Fenlands but Bash is scared of the ducks and go to Farmer McColl's field but the cows scare Bash. Toby realizes that Bash just wants his home to remain on Misty Island. As Percy is thinking about this, Gordon rushes past and frightens him by going so fast and being so loud. Percy realizes that big things can scare little things, so Percy decides to approach the animals again, but this time he is very gentle and quiet. Soon the rabbit, the squirrel and the bird have hopped onto Percy's buffer. Percy takes his new friends to meet the other engines. Emily and Dash - Emily is given the special of looking after Dash and taking him to the Children's Steam Fair. Emily sees that Dash can make special tweeting noises with his whistle. Emily pushes Dash to show her how to make tweeting noises again and again. Dash warns Emily that he'll run out of fuel but she doesn't listen and Dash runs out of fuel. He gets stuck and can't move to go to the fair. Emily goes to the fair instead and tries to tweet again but everyone just thinks she is being funny. Emily realizes that she has been a silly engine and needs to help Dash. Emily makes everything better by getting fuel for Dash and bringing him to the fair. Later, Caillou and his daycare buddies have a treasure hunt in the forest. With Sarah and a magnifying glass, Caillou pretends to be a jungle explorer, hunting "big game" in the garden. On another day, Caillou and his family go away for a weekend of camping in the woods. During the second test run, Roley thinks he sees unflattened tarmac and rushes to fix it. Car wash chaos ensues and Bob and the team enact a quick repair. The car wash is finished just as Mayor Madison and Mr. Bentley arrive to use the new system. Windows open, Phillip hurries through, washing not only the outside of the car, but Mayor Madison and Mr. Bentley, too. Learning Goals: To recognize that systems have an order for operation. To recognize shapes and colors. To understand the importance of applying one's best efforts. Check Up Day: It's time for the Machines' Check Up Day! After a wash, the Machines are ready for Curtis the mechanic to examine them to ensure that they're working properly. However, Scoop notices that his orange emergency light is broken and worries about his inspection. He tries to hide but only becomes more disheveled. Bob finds Scoop and, with Wendy's help, they prepare him for his examination. Scoop and Lofty support each other through their check-ups and yield positive results. Apollo loves to whip his long tail, and does so as he leads the kids on a pretend adventure to find a hard-to-reach tree with yummy, delicious leaves! Mrs. Pteranodon cleans out the clutter from the family nest and the kids are amazed at the pile of stuff - leaves, flower petals, pieces of wood, and shells. Tiny stops Mom from throwing out all the stuff, determined that she and Buddy, Tiny, and Don will find a use for it all.     Dinosaur Train [#220] Arnie Rides The Flatcar/Old Reliable Buddy, Tiny, and Mom visit their very large sauropod friend, Arnie Argentinosaurus, and his dad. Arnie has grown bigger since our kids have seen him and is now too big to ride on the Dinosaur Train anymore. Tiny and Buddy arrange with Mr. Conductor for Arnie to be the first big dinosaur to ride on the newest Dinosaur Train car - the flatbed car! Mr. Pteranodon and Mr. Lambeosaurus take all the kids to see a field of geysers - holes in the ground that hot water shoots out from! At the same time, Mrs. Pteranodon and Mrs. Lambeosaurus are relaxing nearby in soothing pools of warm water, called hot springs. When Celery takes the kids to space, they observe how the other planets don't have the right attributes to support life, but Earth is "just right"! Curriculum: All life on Earth comes from the energy of the Sun. The Earth happens to be located just the right distance from the Sun: not too far away, and not too close. This makes the Earth what we call a "Goldilocks planet": not too hot, not too cold.
    "Solar Power Rover" - Jet, Sean, and Sydney visit their Mars Robot Rover friend at the DSA, and discover that the rover seems tired. Through helping the solar powered robot regain its energy, they learn how energy can be captured, used from the Sun, and used anywhere - even on Mars. Curriculum: The Sun creates solar power that is used for energy. Solar power is the conversion of sunlight into electricity, either directly or indirectly.

Tiny and Buddy arrange with Mr. Conductor for Arnie to be the first big dinosaur to ride on the newest Dinosaur Train car - the flatbed car! Mr. Pteranodon and Mr. Lambeosaurus take all the kids to see a field of geysers - holes in the ground that hot water shoots out from! At the same time, Mrs. Pteranodon and Mrs. Lambeosaurus are relaxing nearby in soothing pools of warm water, called hot springs.
