    Dinosaur Train [#302] Adventure Camp: Zip Lining/Adventure Camp: Canyon Hiking The Nature Trackers Adventure Campers are back for another adventure and this time they'll be travelling to a rainforest! Once they arrive in the dense, overgrown rainforest, the campers explore different levels of the ecosystem, including the forest floor and the canopy of leaves at the top of the forest. After a hike through the rainforest, the campers' fun adventure culminates as each kid takes a ride on a zip line, where they all get a bird's eye view of the entire rainforest! The Nature Trackers Adventure Campers are led by Mr. Conductor and Gilbert on a hike down a canyon where they can see the different layers of the Mesozoic Era! At first Lily Lambeosaurus is reluctant to go, thinking that a new adventure sounds hard, but Don convinces her that a new adventure can be worth the effort. At the bottom of the canyon, the kids play Dinoball and then dig for fossils. The group learns that sometimes it's good to go slow: seeing, hearing, and smelling the environment around you. You never know what you'll find! However, when they bring Splash and Dunk to meet her, they discover she doesn't remember them at all.     Ready Jet Go! [#126H] What's A Satellite/Satellite Selfie "What's a Satellite?" - An Earth-orbiting "telecom" communications satellite breaks down, and satellite TV service in Boxwood Terrace stops working. Three people can't watch their favorite shows and consequently get very upset. Jet decides to fly up to space and see what the problem is with the satellite, and hilarity ensues. Curriculum: A satellite is an artificial object that has been intentionally placed into orbit. Satellites are used for a large number of purposes. Communications satellites receive signals from Earth and bounce them back to other locations, for everything from GPS to cell phone service to TV shows. Satellites are usually semi-independent computer-controlled systems. "Satellite Selfie" - The kids learn that they can use links to different websites to see a satellite view of their house. Mindy notices that Jet's house is not in the image. That's because these images are from sometime over the past 2 years, and not live images from space. With Dr. Rafferty's help, the kids identify the next time a satellite will pass over their neighborhood, and try to gather for a "space selfie" next to Jet's house. Curriculum: Satellites are objects that humans have placed into orbit around the Earth. Many have cameras in them. The two engines compare jobs, boasting how much they like their own work, and so the Earl agrees to let them switch jobs for the day. Salty is sent to the Dieselworks, but rushes away as soon as he is repaired, spilling oil over himself. Salty races back into the docks slipping and sliding out of control. When Porter saves Salty from causing an accident, the two engines become the best of friends. Educational Objectives: appreciating differences, making new friends, accepting help, taking responsibility. Gone Fishing - Bill and Ben, the tank engine twins, see Harvey, the crane engine, at Brendam Docks. They tease him about having a hook and ask if he is going fishing. Porter helps Harvey see the positive side of being both a crane and an engine, and encourages him to help pull some trucks. Harvey is not very confident, but when he has an accident and derails his trucks, he soon realizes just how useful being a crane engine can be. They try to share it, but squabbles inevitably arise. When Caillou worries that Leo isn't talking to him anymore he finally realizes his friendship is more important than any toy. Luckily for Caillou, Leo thinks so too! In the end, the boys decide to 'gift' the toy shuttle to Clementine - who is all too happy to receive it. Educational Objective: The importance of sharing; friendship. Coach Grandpa: Grandpa is coaching Caillou's soccer team, and Caillou really wants to impress his Grandpa. So when the team starts losing, and Caillou begins to bumble on the field, Caillou decides he doesn't want to play anymore. Grandpa explains that win or lose, it's all about having fun. He's proud of Caillou, no matter what. With renewed enthusiasm, Caillou rejoins the team to have fun playing the game. Educational Objective: Having fun at sports is more important than winning. The Safety Helper: Caillou is very proud when Miss Martin makes him "Safety Helper" for the day. He takes his job very seriously, and even prevents Jeffrey from going down the slide head-first. So when the job is passed on to Leo the next day, Caillou feels crushed... until he overhears some students repeating his safety lessons, and realizes they took his message to heart.     Bob the Builder [#914] At The Movies! Lights! Camera! Leo!: Bob and the team are building the set and rocket for the movie, Space Robots 3. While the team is busy at work, Leo dreams of starring in the film and tries to capture the attention of the director. When the cameras start rolling the next morning, Leo appears on set, inside the rocket. His antics result in the damage of the set and beloved robot character, D11D. Though D11D cannot be mended in time, super-fan Saffi is able to fit inside the robot's casing to play the role. Learning Goals: To observe actions and decisions of characters in stories and their consequences. To use creative brainstorming to generate possible solutions to a problem. To understand the importance of honesty. Star Struck Muck: Spring City Studios is planning to produce a new Dash Lighting film and Bob and the team are commissioned to build the set! While the team is at work, Muck is so consumed with meeting his hero, Dash Lightning, that he is distracted from the job. After a montage of mistakes, the entire set falls apart. Together, the team rebuild the set and Muck sacrifices watching the film shoot to help hold up the scenery. The filming wraps and Muck is finally able to meet his hero. Learning Goals: To understand the importance of making plans. To understand the importance of safety at work and play. When Shark comes up on land to practice, he flops all over the stage like a...well, a fish out of water. But the show must go on!     Dinosaur Train [#224H] Dome-Headed Dinosaur/Treasure Hunt The Pteranodon kids and their dome-headed friend Spikey Stygimoloch meet a brother and sister, Patrick and Pamela Pachycephalosaurus, two dinosaurs with enormous dome heads. Spikey bonds with the Pachycephalosaurus. Patrick and Pamela are athletes who invite our kids, Mom, and Spikey along to watch them use their impressive dome heads to play a volleyball type sport called, Dome Ball. Don has a large collection of things he's found in nature, but he's missing one hard-to-locate item - amber. On the Dinosaur Train, Don and the other Pteranodon kids find out that Gilbert is also looking for amber.     Dinosaur Train [#303] Solar Train/Birdwatching Our Pteranodon family accompanies Mr. Conductor to the Troodon Town Roundhouse to meet up with Thurston Troodon, the Rocket Train's conductor. They all soon learn that Tricia Troodon, a young hotshot conductor, actually invited everyone there to see her new train - the Solar Train! The kids learn that it's powered by the sun! To test the train's performance, the three Conductors, along with the help of Buddy, Tiny, Shiny and Don, race the Dinosaur Train, Thurston's Rocket Train and Tricia's new Solar Train to the Triassic! Buddy and Tiny give Elliot Enantiornithine, a first timer on the Dinosaur Train, a tour of the Train. When they go through Laura Giganotosaurus' car, she explains to them that today is her bird watching/drawing day, but she hasn't found a single bird to watch. But, there's Elliot. He hams it up for Laura, who watches and draws him. This is so fun that Buddy and Tiny bring Laura to meet another bird friend-- Arlene Archeopteryx. Then Arlene and Elliot introduce the kids and Laura to a new bird named Peng Protopteryx!     Ready Jet Go! [#127] Space Junk/Scientific Sean "Space Junk" - After learning about space junk, the kids are determined to help do their part to clean up their "space neighborhood." They meet up with Uncle Zucchini, a long-time galaxy garbage man! Using Bortronian technology, they start a cleanup. During the course of the day, our kids learn that recycling is necessary both on Earth and in space! Curriculum: The outer space region around Earth swarms with millions of pieces of man-made space junk that create potential hazards. Objects as small as 4 inches can be seen by radar or optical telescopes on Earth. Cleaning the debris is a challenge. Trips to larger objects could remove them from orbit, but that's expensive. Another proposal is using lasers to provide a path-changing push that wouldn't damage the object. "Scientific Sean" - Jet is fascinated by Earth paper airplanes when he watches Sean casually fold one. Jet suggests that the kids challenge each other to build the plane that will fly the farthest, and still carry the payload of a message. Sean wants to use the Scientific Method to solve the distance/size issues. CURRICULUM: The Scientific Method is a simple set of rules that scientists use the world over, to make sure that they are doing their experiments correctly and in a way that they can repeat. Patrick and Pamela are athletes who invite our kids, Mom, and Spikey along to watch them use their impressive dome heads to play a volleyball type sport called, Dome Ball. Don has a large collection of things he's found in nature, but he's missing one hard-to-locate item - amber. On the Dinosaur Train, Don and the other Pteranodon kids find out that Gilbert is also looking for amber. To test the train's performance, the three Conductors, along with the help of Buddy, Tiny, Shiny and Don, race the Dinosaur Train, Thurston's Rocket Train and Tricia's new Solar Train to the Triassic! Buddy and Tiny give Elliot Enantiornithine, a first timer on the Dinosaur Train, a tour of the Train. When they go through Laura Giganotosaurus' car, she explains to them that today is her bird watching/drawing day, but she hasn't found a single bird to watch. But, there's Elliot. He hams it up for Laura, who watches and draws him. This is so fun that Buddy and Tiny bring Laura to meet another bird friend-- Arlene Archeopteryx. Then Arlene and Elliot introduce the kids and Laura to a new bird named Peng Protopteryx!
