    Dinosaur Train [#215] Dinos A to Z, Part 1, The Big Idea/Dinos A to Z, Part 2, Spread The Word While riding the Dinosaur Train with Buddy and Mom, Tiny gets the idea to gather all the dinosaurs in the `Dinosaurs A to Z' song for a picnic at Troodon Town. The Conductor agrees, and the Train starts picking up dinosaurs, as Tiny and Buddy help keep track of how many of the different species have come on board, and where they are on the dinosaur A to Z list. The Dinosaur Train continues traveling around the Mesozoic picking up more and more dinosaurs that are in the `Dinosaurs A to Z' song, on the way to a picnic at Troodon Town. But the concert is all the way at the end of Sundown hiking path, and they've never been there. Nature Cat leads his pals on an adventure to get to the concert, but forgets about rule number one: don't stray from the hiking path! Curriculum: When you are going for a hike to explore a new place, plan ahead; you may get thirsty, hungry, tired and maybe even lost!

Mindy, upset she can't go, gets a boost - Sunspot stays back and agrees to let her be his pet-sitter. As the group in the saucer searches for, yet can't find, the Northern Lights, Sunspot and Mindy work on a backyard project - making their own amazing backyard "Northern Lights" display! Curriculum: Northern lights (aka, aurora borealis) are a natural, awesome phenomenon. The origin of the aurora begins when a cloud of gas is ejected from the Sun's surface. When it collides in Earth's atmosphere with oxygen and nitrogen, it produces dazzling auroral light.
    * Treehouse ISS - When the kids realize that they all want to use the treehouse at the same time for different activities, arguments break out. Mindy tries to help by creating a schedule for each kid to use the treehouse alone. In the end, the kids realize they need each other's company and ideas in order to be successful in their own projects. In resolving their problem, the kids learn to think like the scientists on the International Space Station, who have to find a solution to the problem of getting along while doing different projects in a small space. Curriculum: The International Space Station (ISS) program is a great global human achievement in international cooperation. Countries work in partnership to support the experiments of scientists on the ISS, including observing space, growing plants in micro-gravity, and recording observations.

    Caillou [#442] Doing It Together! Caillou and Leo are playing with their rocket ships in the park. Rosie wants to help them build the space station but she accidentally wrecks it. At home, Caillou and Leo continue their space game and are thrilled when Mr. Hinkle gives them a cardboard box which they transform into a rocket ship. On a winter day, Dad and Caillou go over to Grandpa's with their skates. What was supposed to be a skating outing becomes a shoveling chore because of all the snow that has accumulated in Grandpa's driveway. Soon, Caillou finds a way to turn this into a game and has a lot of fun making snow castles. When Caillou and Rosie stay at Grandma and Grandpa's house, Grandpa uses pop bottles and a rubber ball to create a bowling alley in the backyard. Grandpa teaches Caillou to bowl, but when he is called inside, it's Caillou's turn to teach as he shows Rosie how to play. Caillou accidentally spills the rest of the milk before Rosie could get her cereal. She is very upset and Caillou suggests they go get some more milk at the corner store. At the street intersection, he shows Mom that he knows when it is time to cross safely. Caillou is excited when Miss Martin takes him and his friends to the park for some special activities. The rules are not easy to grasp, and the kids have a few comical mishaps in the process. Caillou discovers that you don't always have to win to be proud of yourself. duration 28:55   STEREO TVY

Saffi tries to help Wendy, but her assistance only causes more problems. When Saffi uses the treehouse before it's ready, it begins to collapse with the Rockets' trophy inside. In effort to save the trophy, Wendy heroically repels from a tree and retrieves it. Together, Wendy and the team rebuild the treehouse. Learning Goals: To understand that everyone can design and build. To understand the importance of patience and impulse control. Cats and Dogs: Bob and the team are building the vet a new reception area for her office to separate cats and dogs. Mayor Madison and her cat have an appointment this evening and the vet is worried because Cooper, the dog she is looking after, loves to chase cats. Leo promises to keep the animals away from the site, but soon Cooper is chasing Pilchard around the reception area and havoc ensues. Leo finally regains control of the animals and the team is able to finish the new reception area in time for the Mayor's arrival. Learning Goals: To explore the engineering design process: identifying a problem, looking for ideas, developing solutions, and sharing solutions with others. Get Your Coat: Duck thinks Frog doesn't want to play in the rain because Duck accidentally broke Frog's boat. But the real reason is that Frog doesn't like the rain. The Pteranodon family reunites with some dinosaurs they've met before, and are introduced to species they've never met! The Pteranodon kids also learn about classification, and Don leads the way organizing the dinosaurs on the Train by their species, features, and size. The Pteranodon family is on the Dinosaur Train, now very crowded with all 26 dinosaurs mentioned in the `Dinosaurs A to Z' song. The Train has added more extra cars than it ever has, and there's even an additional engine to help pull the Train to Troodon Town.     Dinosaur Train [#217] Remember The Alamosaurus/Sunrise, Sunset The Pteranodon kids and Dad get the idea to travel around on the Dinosaur Train and meet some of the biggest dinosaurs. They even sing a song, `The Biggest Dinosaurs', before meeting Allie Alamosaurus, an enormous, long-necked, plant eating sauropod who is very friendly. Allie explains that her huge, strong legs hardly bend at all, but she can still have fun playing games with the kids, and teaching them some of her favorites! Dad takes the Pteranodon kids on an overnight camping trip where they watch both a sunrise and sunset, learning that the sun rises in the east and sets in the west. Curriculum: It's hard to have a picnic anywhere in the Solar System besides Earth - here we're not too near or too far from the Sun, so the temperature is just right, plus we have liquid oceans and a breathable atmosphre. Anywhere else, you'd definitely have a hard time enjoying a picnic outdoors.
    * Face on the Fritz - When the kids are trying to build a new pet house for Sunspot and FACE 9000 gives them mixed-up directions, they learn that it is time for FACE 9000 to get upgraded. In the meantime FACE 9000's "substitute," the "DATA-BOX," is an old Earth computer from the early 1980s. The kids need to learn how to give instructions in the way computers understand, putting them in charge of using technology in an active way. When FACE 9000 comes back, they have learned to appreciate him, as well as to be more independent thinkers.Curriculum: Technology has advanced greatly since the days of the giant computers that guided man to the moon in 1969. However, even though technology is very useful, it is still a tool, not an end in itself, and people still need to know how to monitor and program it.

The Pteranodon family is on the Dinosaur Train, now very crowded with all 26 dinosaurs mentioned in the `Dinosaurs A to Z' song. The Train has added more extra cars than it ever has, and there's even an additional engine to help pull the Train to Troodon Town. Dad takes the Pteranodon kids on an overnight camping trip where they watch both a sunrise and sunset, learning that the sun rises in the east and sets in the west.
