He even joins Mr. McFeely on his "speedy delivery" to give Dad the very special letter! I Love You, Mom - Daniel wants to surprise Mom Tiger with her favorite banana bread because he knows it is one way to say "I love you." Dad and Daniel head to Baker Aker's Bakery, where they learn about the bread-making process. A Trip to the Crayon Factory - Daniel Tiger, Miss Elaina, and Katerina Kittycat take a fun trip to the factory to see how crayons are made but, O the Owl can't come because he's sick. At the factory, the kids watch the crayons being made, and Daniel looks and listens closely. After a number of failed and funny attempts, Percy discovers that the solution to making the calliope work is to use steam - the answer was in his funnel all along! Happy Birthday Sir! - It is Sir Topham Hatt's Birthday. He tells Thomas to take Winston, his new track vehicle, with him on his jobs. Sir Topham Hatt wants Winston to see what it's like to be a Really Useful engine. Salty and Edward tell Thomas and Winston of when a younger Fat Controller would travel from station to station on his birthday in his favorite open top carriage, sharing birthday cake with the passengers on the platform. Thomas and Winston set off on his rounds. Winston trails off and Thomas is cross. Thomas makes Winston travel in front of him. Winston does so, but rolls along very slowly - looking to left and right. Thomas bumps into the back of Winston and derails him! But Winston is excited!     Thomas & Friends [#910] Just Being You Express Coming Through - At Knapford Station, Dowager Hatt is having a welcome to Sodor party. Sir Topham Hatt asks Thomas to take the visitors on a tour of Sodor. Thomas asks the visitors to ride on the Express but it's too heavy for Thomas. He doesn't want Gordon to see that he has to drop off passengers to make the Express lighter. To avoid Gordon, he leaves the visitors to enjoy "the Sights of Sodor" at the Quarry and in a field. Dowager Hatt realizes that the important visitors are missing and Gordon is sent to collect the visitors. But a job needs doing! The balloons have to be collected from the Docks for the party. Thomas is fast. He picks them up and proves that he is Really Useful, just in a different way than Gordon. Whiff's Wish - Whiff is given the job of collecting trucks of garbage from across the island. Whiff hears Spencer being praised for his grandness. Whiff wishes that he, too, could be a grand engine, so he searches for opportunities to be grand. The tracks come to a standstill because Whiff's garbage trucks have not been collected. Worried, Whiff crashes into a stationary Percy. Seeing Percy, who is only concerned about delivering the mail on time, Whiff realizes that there is nothing grander than doing your job well.     Caillou [#417] All in a Day Caillou does a lot in a day, and today he wants to dress himself, only his Mommy is doing the laundry and he doesn't have any clean clothes, so Daddy and Caillou decide to play a dressing game with Daddy's old clothes. While preparing a picnic lunch with Mom, Caillou tests a bit too much of everything. He has no room left to eat the special sandwich Clementine made for him. His appetite comes back while watching squirrels storing food in their houses for the winter. Later that day, it's bath time, only Caillou doesn't like to take baths. Daddy turns bath time into playtime with a motorboat and a big bottle of bubble bath. And, when the car breaks down Caillou, Rosie and Dad have to pull over. Caillou comforts Rosie who becomes afraid when smoke comes out of the engine. Caillou is overjoyed when the tow truck arrives.     Bob the Builder [#922] Rain Or Shine Stormy Weather: Fixham Beach is hosting a sand sculpture competition. When Mayor Madison loses her ring, the partially-built sand creations are demolished in the search. Without trace of the ring, the team rebuild their sculptures. However, they notice a storm approaching. The Machines cover the sand sculptures with a tarpaulin while the teams take shelter in Chef Tattie's restaurant. The storm passes, the sand castles are saved, and Leo finds Mayor Madison's ring in the beach's stand pipe. Curtis and Leo win the sand sculpture competition and Bob is forced to admit that he can't build everything, particularly sandcastles. Learning Goals: To demonstrate the value of using basic observational skills. To explore a variety of ways to find lost or hidden objects. To show everyone can design and build. Wind and Shine: The Spring City Sea Life Center will be powered by renewable energy and Bob and the team are building wind farm on the site to make it happen. Since Spring City will require more energy as it grows, Scoop 'plans ahead' and convinces Lofty to move the wind turbines closer together in order to fit more into the space. When tested, however, the team discovers that the wind turbines were placed too close-the blades clash and cannot be repaired. The team installs solar panels, along with the remaining wind turbines, to combine solar power and wind power for an energy-saving solution. Learning Goals: To learn what renewable energy is.     WordWorld [#213] Welcome Home, Duck/The Lost Letter L Welcome Home, Duck - Frog, excited about Duck's return from a long vacation, makes a "Welcome Home" banner to hang over Duck's nest. Problem is, the dock connecting Frog's log to Duck's nest has broken, so Frog has to find another way across. Frog tries building a SOCK and a BLOCK to replace the dock, but it's not until he builds a ROCK that he can land on, halfway across the pond, that he's able to get across the water to duck's nest. The Lost Letter L - When Duck accidentally breaks the L off Frog's lamp, he decides not to tell Frog. Instead, he'll just fix it himself. Although Bug and Dog try to help, things spiral out of control, and soon Duck has broken a lamp, a lever and even Frog's log!
