Jimi Hendrix: American Masters Considered a pioneering electric guitarist, one of the most influential in the history of popular music, Jimi Hendrix only had four years of mainstream exposure and recognition, but his music and riveting stage presence left an enormous, enduring legacy. Tracing his roots from Seattle to international stardom, this is his definitive story, illustrated by interviews with Hendrix at venues such as the Miami Pop Festival and illuminated with commentary by Paul McCartney, Noel Redding, Billy Cox, Eddie Kramer and others. Poignant, protected footage from his final performance in Germany in September 1970, just 12 days before his tragic drug-related death at age 27, concludes the film. In what would have been his 70th year, the Hendrix estate has cooperated fully with this film, releasing closely held performance footage that has, literally, never been seen before as well as an extensive archive of photographs, drawings and family letters. duration 1:56:07   STEREO TV14

Washington Week [#5713] The Trump administration's disaster response is just one setback for the president this week. Several cabinet members are under fire for spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on chartered planes. And in the GOP Senate runoff in Alabama, Mr. Trump and Republican leadership's chosen candidate was defeated by Roy Moore, the controversial former chief judge of the state's Supreme Court.
Turning the page from the scrapped efforts to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act, President Trump rolled out the Republican plan for tax reform. The tax framework leaves a lot of details left to be worked out later, but it would reduce the number of tax brackets to three with the rate for high-income earners dropping nearly five percent. It would also raise the level for the standard deduction and child tax credit while repealing the alternative minimum tax and estate tax. Democrats immediately slammed the proposal as looking out for wealthy Americans.
Robert Costa will discuss the week with:
    Jeff Zeleny of CNN
    Susan Davis of NPR
Yamiche Alcindor of The New York Times
Michael Scherer of The Washington Post
Plus, on the Washington Week Extra: President Trump's week-long criticism of players who kneel in protest during the national anthem at NFL games has had Americans debating race and justice, protest and patriotism, and the limits of free speech. Our panel will discuss the ongoing controversy and share some of the comments posted by Washington Week viewers on Facebook.

Arts In Context [#803H] Plastic Planet Artist Calder Kamin always loved sculpting animals but it wasn't until she started using plastic bags that her medium matched her message. Artist Calder Kamin always loved sculpting animals but it wasn't until she started using plastic bags that her medium matched her message.
