In a city that is challenged by crime and drugs, Oakland School of the Arts demonstrates that the arts can help young people stay off the streets and flourish in classrooms, on stage, and in recital halls. This intimate look at young aspiring artists -- and the teachers who guide them -- was produced by filmmaker Jenny Chu as a student at the University of California, Berkeley's Graduate School of Journalism.
