This 1950s series stars Ronald Howard as Sherlock Holmes and Howard Marion Crawford as Dr. Watson. This was the first American TV series of Sherlock Holmes adventures. The show was filmed in France.

Adapted from The Adventure of the Red-Headed League. Jabez Wilson, a London shop owner, comes to consult Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson. Wilson tells them that some weeks before his young assistant, Vincent Spaulding, urged him to respond to a newspaper want-ad offering work to only red-headed male applicants.

Dr Watson's hat is found at the scene of a murder, leading Lestrade to suspect him of having killed a diplomat lately returned from Saint Petersburg. A Russian ballet dancer and a composer are also suspects, but Holmes unmasks the real murderer.

Escape artist Harry Crocker begs Holmes to help clear his name of a murder he didn't do, although clues seem to point to him. The murderer is revealed to have been jealous of the victim's relationship with Harry. Filmed in 1954 and directed by Sheldon Reynolds.
