But when the Duncans do nothing but fight during drinks, and then both show up at the pub that evening with black eyes, they appear more unusual than Jean ever guessed.

Jean and Lionel take a parental interest in Harry, Sandy's policeman boyfriend. However, Lionel is torn between disapproval and anticipation when Sandy reveals the need to dress up in black tights and a short skirt (the appropriate attire for a St. Trinian's girl) for Harry's rugby club dance. Yet, the affairs of the younger generation seem to diminish in importance when Jean receives a phone message from an old flame.
