KQED Kids: Tue, Dec 1, 2009 -- 3:00 PM

Wishbone becomes a star when Wanda's well-renowned artist cousin comes to Oakdale to create a masterpiece model of Wishbone for the city's park. The story parallels Wishbone's grooming for greatness with Charles Dickens' Great Expectations in which Pip, a lowly blacksmith's apprentice, mysteriously inherits a fortune from a secret criminal benefactor. David, who becomes an egotistical artist's assistant, and Pip learn the valuable lesson of never forgetting their true friends just because of short-term status gained when they are both betrayed by the wealthy, snobbish women they have been trying to impress.
