The staff protest the monitoring of their breaks and trips to the restroom, in the form of a signing in and out book. A union meeting is convened, and Mr. Grace finally arranges for the coffee to be brought to the staff to avoid them losing their break time in transit to the canteen.

The staff of Grace Brothers is used to choosing when to take their vacations, but the management calmly announces that is will be closing the store for two weeks to redecorate, and that all staff will take their vacations during that time. The uproar is quieted when the company also announces they are offering a package tour for employees. Quiet, that is, until the staff gets a look at the package.
