Peggy will share the history of capes and wraps, as well as look at the evolution of the classic trench coat from its World War I beginnings to its most fashion-forward looks of today. She also will show viewers how many different looks and styles of garments they can get from just one trench coat pattern.

The Technology of Sewing and How It Has Evolved (Episode #501H)

This episode gives the viewer an overview of how sewing's main tools have been updated to meet the needs of today's demanding sewers. From thread, to scissors to sewing machines that communicate with smart phones, host Peggy Sagers explains how technology has moved the sewing world forward and expanded the creative palette for individual sewers. She also interviews industry experts on buttons, who will show the wide range of design possibilities available today with custom, handmade buttons, as well as those created at home with a computer and 3D printer.
