"Mommy, mommy why does my skin hurt so much?" The mother of the child asking this question has no good answer for her child in pain. And the red, scaly skin that is Psoriasis will continue to challenge so many children throughout the remainder of their lives. This program follows the lives of five families as they face the challenges of Psoriasis, a chronic, incurable disease that can impact every member of the family.
How does Psoriasis affect young people's concept of themselves? And how will their own body image influence their interactions with others? Listen to the voices of these children and their families as they share their concerns, their hopes and their fears in the midst of a life-altering condition that can manifest in school, on the ball field and on prom night. Learn about the treatment options available to these families as they confront this immune-mediated disease that affects more then seven million Americans. And finally, stand with these children as they summon the courage to move forward, learning how to integrate this illness into the very fabric of their young lives.
