She also visits with Maria Merante, a wonderful Italian American woman who left her mark in Pittsburgh.

The Sicilians were a large immigrant community in lower Manhattan and other areas of New York City, and they brought with them several dishes from their homeland. She then makes a Cappuccino Cake which she actually discovered in New Orleans - another locale with a very large Sicilian population.
