A panel of distinguished leaders discuss the global challenges of an aging world, and explore solutions to issues such as social security, education, career and family planning, tightening of resources and global demographics. The event took place in conjunction with Stanford's Reunion Homecoming Weekend, Saturday, Oct. 23, 2010 in Maples Pavilion.
Tom Brokaw moderates the panel which includes: John L. Hennessy, Stanford University's 10th president; Laura L. Carstensen, Fairleigh S. Dickinson Jr. Professor in Public Policy, professor of psychology, and founding director of the Stanford Center on Longevity; Sandra Day O'Connor (Retired), Associate Justice, US Supreme Court; Robert Sapolsky, John A. and Cynthia Fry Gunn Professor at Stanford University, with joint appointments in biological sciences, neurology and neurological sciences; Sheryl Sandberg, Chief Operating Officer, Facebook; and Barry Rand, CEO of AARP, and Chairman of the Board, Howard University.
