This salute to American cooking traditions features six of the country's favorite chefs to represent the diversity of food and culture that makes the US the world's great melting pot: Ming Tsai (Simply Ming), Ruth Reichl (Gourmet's Diary of a Foodie), Lidia Bastianich (Lidia's Italy), Rick Bayless (Mexico - One Plate at a Time), Jose Andreas (Made In Spain) and Chris Kimball (America's Test Kitchen From Cook's Illustrated).
Setting the stage for a show full of mouth-watering dishes perfect for family and friends, the program begins with all of the chefs sharing the stage in a communal kitchen. Then, in the spirit of a potluck dinner, each chef contributes a single course to the banquet, then "passes the plate" to the next chef. It concludes with all six chefs tasting the dishes of their colleagues at this one-of-a-kind progressive dinner and sharing stories about their dishes.
