    • Mon 5/06: very brief KQED DT9 OTA outage

      (DT9.1, 9.2, 9.3) This morning we had a very brief outage of our over the air (OTA) coverage for KQED 9.1/9.2/9.3, which lasted apx 4 minutes.     • Mon 4/22: KQEH OTA signal back on air

      (DT54.1 through DT54.5) The Over the Air (OTA) signal from our KQEH transmitter on Monument Peak was restored at apx 6:35pm this evening. Most tuners should automatically find the signal, however some OTA viewers may need to do a rescan to restore reception.

    • Mon 4/22: KQEH OTA planned overnight outage extended

      Unexpected technical problems have been discovered at the KQEH transmitter site during planned maintenance overnight.  KQED crews have identified the problem and are working to correct it as soon as possible. Please check back to this blog for status updates. Service to Comcast and other providers are uninterrupted.

Poirot's compatriot, famous film star Marie Marvelle, shows him letters demanding the return of her magnificent diamond, the 'Western Star.' Despite Poirot's protests, Marie is determined to keep hold of the diamond so that she can wear it at a weekend house party at Yardley Chase. Lady Yardley owns the companion jewel, the 'Eastern Star,' and Marie is determined not to be outshone. But before this glittering occasion can take place, both diamonds are stolen.

The Kidnapped Prime Minister (Episode #209)

Poirot is called in at the highest level when the British Prime Minister is kidnapped in France en route to a disarmament conference. The kidnap has been preceded by a gun attack on the PM as he traveled down on the boat train after seeing the King at Windsor. With only 32 hours to go before the conference is due to start, Poirot confounds the government by refusing to cross the channel and pursuing his investigation in England.

The Adventure of the Cheap Flat (Episode #208)

Hercule Poirot meets a young couple who cannot believe their luck in finding a fashionable London flat for a nominal rent. Poirot is intrigued and decides to uncover the mystery of the cheap flat by pretending to move into the same block. This move unwittingly involves Christie's charmingly eccentric hero in an undercover FBI investigation into the recovery of secret submarine plans stolen by the mafia.

Double Sin (Episode #207)

Hastings is disturbed by Poirot's talk of retiring and suggests they take a short holiday in the Northwest of England. On a day trip to Lake Windermere, Hastings is very taken with fellow passenger Mary Durrant who confides that she is carrying valuable antiques which she intends to sell to a client. When the antiques are stolen en route Hastings takes charge - the newly retired Poirot affecting complete disinterest in the theft.

The Disappearance of Mr. Davenheim (Episode #206)

Wealthy banker Matthew Davenheim leaves his country mansion to walk to the post office after tea and is never seen again. He was expected to meet his colleague, Lowen, but Lowen sees no one on his walk from the station to Davenheim's house. Inspector Japp wagers that Poirot will not be able to solve the mystery without leaving his apartment which, much to the Belgian detective's disgust, he is currently sharing with a parrot.
