The Dead Man's Mirror (Episode #507)

Poirot is keen on an Art Deco mirror, but is outbid at auction by Gervase Chevenix who asks Poirot to find out if he is being defrauded - offering him the mirror as a fee. Poirot travels down to Chevenix's house, but, before he can begin the fraud investigation, his client is found shot dead and his "fee" shattered into a thousand pieces. A note beside the body which reads simply "sorry" is Poirot's only obvious piece of evidence.

The Dream (Episode #110)

Poirot receives a note from wealthy pork pie manufacturer Benedict Farley urgently requesting a meeting. The elderly tycoon explains a recurring dream in which he commits suicide in the library at midday using a revolver. He asks whether Poirot has any experience of a victim being hypnotized into committing suicide Poirot has not. When Farley is found dead with a gun in his hand, Poirot is convinced that foul play is afoot.

The King of Clubs (Episode #109)

Poirot and Hastings drive down to the studios where a friend is directing a film. They watch some of the filming and are shocked by the behavior of the studio owner Henry Reedburn who treats the cast and crew appallingly. That evening Reedburn is found dead at his home. When the beautiful young star of the film, Valerie Saintclair, is implicated in the murder, her fiance engages the services of Poirot to clear her name.

The Incredible Theft (Episode #108)

Pre-war Britain is striving to produce a new fighter aircraft. Minister for Armaments Lord Mayfield invites Air Marshall Carrington to his country home to discuss the secret plans. Due to the high security risk, Chief Inspector Japp (Philip Jackson) has the estate patrolled by police but a vital design sheet is somehow spirited out of the house. Poirot, who is also a guest of Lord Mayfield, is on hand to track down the thief.

Problem at Sea (Episode #107)

Cruising around the Mediterranean, Poirot and his fellow passengers approach Alexandria. Colonel Clapperton, whose overbearing wife has earned him some sympathy, disembarks for a trip around the port. He invites his wife to join him, but her brusque rejection is clearly overheard by Poirot and others. On their return to the ship that evening, Mrs. Clapperton has been robbed and stabbed to death. The captain is anxious to avoid a scandal and asks Poirot to investigate.
