Within sight of the five Virunga Range volcanoes he travels in search of Rwanda's endangered mountain gorillas and golden monkeys. As with every Travelscope adventure, the journey includes cultural experiences in a local church, living museum, market, primary school and health clinic. In addition he takes part in Rwanda's monthly national day of service, a program that is the heart of Rwanda's dedication to attack the ideology of genocide at its root - ethnic division.

In keeping with his joy of lifelong learning, he hops aboard a University of Texas research vessel for a cruise of the bay and a look it's denizens of the deep.
