America's Heartland
This series celebrates US agriculture, horticulture and aquaculture by spotlighting the diverse group of men and women providing food, fuel and fiber to the world. Season 5 boasts a fresh format, faster pacing, new regular features and on-camera contributors, and a greater emphasis on direct-to-consumer issues in urban environments. The series also welcomes back the popular "Harvesting Knowledge" (about the history of food and farming), "Voices from the Heartland" and "Along the Way" segments, and introduces "Off the Shelf," a recurring segment which traces the origins of everyday grocery-store products.
