KQED Cooking/Food Series

Below, in alphabetical order, is information about the availability of companion cookbooks, recipes and/or videos for the cooking series currently airing on analog KQED TV9/HD, KTEH TV54, and/or KQED/KTEH Life.

Whether or not a cooking series has a website, or whether individual recipes are published on a website is a decision made by each show's producers, not KQED or PBS. If a cooking series has a web site, then it's hyperlinked below.

Many PBS cooking series post only a few sample recipes on their websites, due to copyright restrictions in the contract for the cookbook's publication. Also, cookbook sales help recover some of the production costs for the TV shows.

Recipes: Currently, some recipes from the 800s & 900s seasons are available for free on the ATK website. All recipes from all 9 seasons of the series have been moved to the Cook's Illustrated website, which requires a paid annual subscription. To determine which season a show belongs to, check the schedule for the day you saw the program on KQED, and note the episode number for the show. The first digit indicates the season (ie., 806 is from the 8th season).
