About Devil in the Details
Devil in the Details: Scenes from an Obsessive Girlhood is Jennifer
Traig's memoir of her mortifying teen years. Jennifer suffered from
scrupulosity, a rare form of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder that made her
extremely religious and completely dysfunctional. She spent all her time
praying, washing, and generally making life hell for her family. In this
excerpt, Jennifer recalls a family trip to France at the height of her
illness.
