KQED's dedication to the rich diversity of the Bay Area is demonstrated
throughout the year by our commitment to airing programs produced by and
for our community. Our corporate partners are invited to join us in this
effort through sponsorship of these special opportunities. Examples include:
Heritage Months:
Black History Month - February
Women's History Month - March
Asian Pacific American Heritage Month - May
Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Pride Month - June
Latino Heritage Month - September
American Indian Heritage Month - November Pledge Challenge Grants
KQED Business Partners fill an important role in our fundraising efforts. Partners support KQED through the Challenge Grants program during radio and television pledge drives. Challenges motivate more listeners and viewers to join KQED and become members.
Here's the way it works:
During a KQED on-air pledge drive, businesses promise a donation (e.g. $1000) to KQED if it is matched by contributions from individual listeners or viewers.
KQED announces the challenge from company ABC and urges listeners or viewers to call in with their pledge.
Benefits of a Business Partner challenge include a descriptive company tagline, with Web site, minimum of 3 mentions throughout the 10 minute break, and for television, a full screen graphic of your logo!
Challenge grants provide cost-effective media exposure and the opportunity to visibly support your public broadcasting station and contribute to your local community.
Television pledges: March, June, August, December
Radio pledges: January, April, September
