Seeking 1906 is a journey with best-selling author,
Oxford-trained geologist, and adventurer
Simon Winchester as he researches his
18th book, A
Crack in the Edge of the World: America
and the Great California Earthquake of
1906.
Winchester travels as far a field as Alaska searching for both the stories behind the catastrophic 1906 earthquake, and the modern day science of earthquakes. He stumbles across some strange and unexpected things along the way, and meets an eclectic and colorful collection of characters.
