Perspectives
About Perspectives

Perspectives is KQED Public Radio's series of daily commentaries by our listeners. Essays cover a broad range of social and political issues, cultural observations and personal experiences of interest to KQED's Northern California audience. We strive to present fresh and insightful commentary that give our listeners a reason to pause, to think, to laugh or to consider life from the many points of view that make up our community. Perspectives is one way in which KQED Public Radio works to keep the "public" in public radio.

Perspectives is produced by Mark Trautwein. Mark holds a degree in journalism from the University of California, Berkeley and was a reporter for the Berkeley Daily Gazette. He worked as a senior legislative assistant to the U.S. House Interior Committee in Washington, D.C. for 15 years before returning to the Bay Area to work as a consultant and editor.
