| KQED Public Broadcasting Appoints Jeffery B. Nemy,
Chief Financial Officer |
August 15, 2006, San Francisco --- Jeff Nemy, a 25-year veteran of finance, specializing in broadcast, advertising, and consulting, has been named the new Chief Financial Officer for KQED. Effective immediately, Nemy will report directly to Jeff Clarke, president and CEO of KQED and Northern California Public Broadcasting.
Nemy is charged with supervision of KQED's finance and information technology departments and management of all financial affairs. He will develop KQED's strategic plans and business plans relating to financial management, as well as provide counsel on financial matters throughout the organization.
"With his impressive management history and depth of experience, Jeff is a tremendous addition to KQED's senior management team and we all look forward to his financial leadership and expertise," said Clarke. "We're confident he will keep KQED on the successful fiscal track set by his predecessor."
Nemy most recently was Chief Financial Officer for Publicis & Hal Riney in San Francisco which he joined after spending nearly a decade with the Interpublic Group of Companies (IPG), one of the worlds' largest advertising agency and marketing services holding companies. At Interpublic, he was Senior Vice President, Regional Finance Director serving as the CFO for the San Francisco office of Foote, Cone & Belding. During the last four years at IPG, he commuted to New York and London helping to consolidate its vast IT resources under a single shared service center in its Global Information Services division.
Prior to IPG, Nemy held the position of CFO for Ketchum Advertising in San Francisco and was involved in the start-up of Nextel Communications. Nemy gained valuable experience in local broadcasting issues while holding responsibility for financial planning and analysis at Chronicle Broadcasting, the former parent company of KRON-TV and four other television stations. Additionally, the first decade of his career was focused as a management consultant with Arthur Young and Price Waterhouse.
Nemy received his Bachelors Degree in both Economics and Finance from California State University, Chico. He holds a CPA and an MBA from the University of Santa Clara. He currently resides in San Francisco.
