Thousands Gather in D.C. to Remember the March on Washington
Thousands gathered on the National Mall in Washington D.C. today to mark the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington, when the Reverend Martin Luther King delivered his iconic “I have a Dream Speech.”
Some travelled great distances to be there -- just as they did 50 years ago.
One who made the trek from the Bay Area is Belva Davis, longtime journalist and former host for KQED Television. She says she was determined not to miss this day.
KQED's Tara Siler spoke with Davis about the event.
