Giants Win Home Opener

The San Francisco Giants beat the St. Louis Cardinals 1-0 this afternoon, in their first home game of the season. Fans bleeding team colors came out to AT&T Park dressed in Giants gear to celebrate the home opener.

Giants fan Barbara Valle says she paid $147 for a bleacher seat, but wouldn't think of missing opening day. "We've been coming to opening day for 28 years, every year," she said. "There is nothing like watching it there, being there. When you watch it on TV you get excited but nothing like being there."

The Giants started their season in Southern California, winning two out of three games against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Today's game was the first in a three-game series. The Giants play the Cardinals again at 1:05 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, April 6 and 7.
