City College of SF Trustee 'Cautiously Optimistic' School Can Stay Open

California's largest community college, City College of San Francisco, has until Friday to prove it deserves to stay open.   This summer, the state's accreditation commission told CCSF it needed to fix a laundry list of problems-- financial, academic, and administrative.

Rafael Mandleman was elected to the City College Board of Trustees in November. Mandleman says he's "cautiously optimistic" that CCSF can solve its problems, and that the commission won't pull their accreditation. Mandleman says the school's made progress; it has adopted an eight-year plan for fiscal stability, and also reorganized the administration to be more transparent and accountable.

Rafael Mandleman spoke with KQED anchor Stephanie Martin.
