Apple Ordered to Apologize Properly

HOST: Apple has less than 24 hours to abide by a court order in the United kingdom and apologize to Samsung. KQED's Aarti Shahani reports an appeals court told Apple the company's first apology wasn't good enough.

AARTI SHAHANI: Last month judges ordered the Cupertino-based computer giant to say on its U.K. website that Samsung did not infringe on the iPad's registered design.

In a web post this week, Apple referenced the court order, but then threw in the following sentence: "other courts have recognized that in the course of creating its Galaxy tablet, Samsung willfully copied Apple's far more popular iPad."

The UK Court says this non-apology is non-compliant. Samsung says Apple is misleading consumers by referencing cases in Germany and the U.S. The court gave Apple until about midnight Friday to post a proper apology. I'm Aarti Shahani, KQED News.
