San Jose Earthquakes to Break Ground on New Stadium

This will be a momentous weekend for the San Jose Earthquakes, in solid control of first place in Major League Soccer's western division. The team will break ground on a new stadium on Sunday, hoping to set a Guinness World Record for the most participants at a groundbreaking.

The team needs a new stadium. Its current home, Buck Shaw Stadium at Santa Clara University, seats just 10,500 fans. Major League Soccer officials like to think that the championship teams -- like the Quakes -- playing in the finals can draw much bigger crowds.

Host Cy Musiker talks with Robert Jonas, managing editor of Center Line Soccer and a writer for the SB Nation website Quake, Rattle, and Goal.
