Officer Kenyon Youngstrom Mourned
Friends, family and law enforcement colleagues remembered slain California Highway Patrol Officer Kenyon Youngstrom this morning at a memorial service in Vacaville.
Speaking to an overflow crowd at Mission Church, CHP Commissioner Joe Farrow addressed the absent Youngstrom.
"I make this solemn pledge to you: Your wife Karen and your family are forever a part of the CHP family, and we will always care for them. And know this -- you have been faithful to your calling. Your work was well done, and we are forever in your debt."
Officer Youngstrom was shot and killed by a motorist last week during a traffic stop on I-680, near Walnut Creek.
