Audio: Report Says Well-Being of California Kids is Low

California has more children than any other state, but a new report ranks the Golden State 41st in children’s well-being. The report from the Annie E. Casey Foundation and the Oakland-based nonprofit Children Now is called "Kids Count."  It ranks states in four sets of criteria: economic well-being, family and community, education and health.  KQED's Joshua Johnson spoke about the report with Ted Lempert, the president of Children Now.  KQED's blog State of Health has more coverage.
