Richmond Prohibits Criminal History Inquiries, Gives Formerly Incarcerated Second Chance

Richmond's "ban the box" ordinance prohibits city contractors from inquiring about an applicant's criminal history at any other point during the hiring process unless the job is deemed "sensitive" – for example, jobs where someone works with youth, or confidential information.
