Kushner Goes Tiny
Playwright Tony Kushner is known for big plays
that take on big issues, like gay identity, AIDS, and
the red scares of the 1950s in "Angels in America" or
the civil rights struggle in "Caroline, or Change." But
next week, the Berkeley Repertory Theatre presents "Tiny
Kushner." It's an evening of five short plays with
characters ranging from former First Lady Laura Bush to
a deposed Romanian monarch, in settings from the moon to
the afterlife. Host Cy Musiker talks to Kushner about
the plays and about producing them at the Berkeley Rep.
