Californians Split on Constitutional Overhaul
A number of public interest groups want to
overhaul the California Constitution to make it harder
to amend through the ballot box, while making it easier
for the Legislature to pass the state budget and tax
measures. But a new poll from Stanford's Bill Lane
Center for the American West finds there's a split on
those issues between white and African-American
Californians and the state's growing population of
Latinos and Asians. What might that difference of
opinion mean for the state's future?
