Overhauling California's Tax Policy
If there's one thing Democrats and Republicans agree on in Sacramento, it's the need for a major reform of California's tax
policy. A blue ribbon commission, with members appointed by the governor and Democratic legislative leaders, will soon release
its ideas for tax reform. The proposals include plans for a flatter income tax and a new levy on business receipts to replace
the current sales and corporate taxes.
