The Hayward Fault -- A Tectonic Time Bomb
It's been called the most dangerous fault in the U.S. Running 40 miles from San Pablo Bay to Fremont, The Hayward Fault lies under some of the most densely populated areas in the country. Scientists have found that large quakes on the fault have occurred regularly for the past 2,000 years -- and they say the Hayward fault is due for another big temblor.
