Lake Tahoe Clarity
Listen Listen (RealMedia stream)
ListenSorry, no MP3 download is available.

Scientists today announced a rare piece of good news in the fight to keep Lake Tahoe blue. They said the lake's clarity has improved in the past year -- and that improvement appears to mark a trend. UC Davis researcher Geoffrey Shladow found that last year, the waters of Lake Tahoe were clear to an average depth of just over 70 feet. That's two and one-half feet clearer than in 2006.
Host: Cy Musiker
Guests:
Geoffrey Shladow, director of the UC Davis - Tahoe Environmental Research Center
