Zeitlin and Jazz / Poet Laureate Al Young
In the first half hour, jazz pianist and psychiatrist Denny Zeitlin discusses the psychological aspect of jazz improvisation -- and explains how people can unlock their creative impulses. In the second half hour, we talk with California poet laureate Al Young about his new collection of poetry, "Something about the Blues" and how music touches his work. Young will receive the Fred Cody Award for Lifetime Achievement in Literature at the Northern California Independent Booksellers Association on April 13.
