happyfunsmile's Smorgasbord of Japanese Sounds
The Manhattan band happyfunsmile brings together several different kinds of Japanese music rarely heard in America: Okinawan
folk-rock, enka, Obon festival music, and chindon - a style developed by street performers in the days before broadcast advertising,
as a way to gather a crowd to publicize a new business.
