KQED Radio News : Preparing for a Dangerous Fire Season
Officials say California is facing its worst wildfire season in years. This week, 400 firefighters from towns around the Bay Area are taking part in training exercises to prepare. It takes a special set of skills to battle fire in the wild. As the program reports, Bay Area crews are practicing the kinds of techniques firefighters are using in the rugged outdoor terrain of the South Lake Tahoe blaze.
