Mexican Holiday Attracts Other Ethnic Groups
Day of the Dead is a national holiday celebrated in Mexico on November 1 and 2. Traditionally, families honor the dead by decorating altars with flowers and the favorite foods of their deceased family members. But in the U.S., Day of the Dead has become popular among non-Latinos in recent years. More than 40 artists are participating in a Day of the Dead exhibit in San Francisco, including two Asian Americans.
