The Philippines' Frustrated Generation Comes of Age
For more then a decade, the Philippines have been embroiled in political turmoil, economic hardships, widespread corruption, and the threat of terrorism. But after a string of popularly elected leaders, the country remains unstable and corruption is widespread. As the newest generation of young Filipinos witnesses mounting calls for President Gloria Arroyo to step down, many educated youth say they don't think a better alternative exists to replace her.
