October 1 is National Day for China. Beijing's Tiananmen Square is a mass of flowers to celebrate the 52nd anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic. Shanghai is also hosting thousands of visitors for numerous events. Among the visitors is Pacific Time's host Nguyen Qui Duc, who's there for the Shanghai Biennale, which this year is presenting mostly new video and photographic art.
